I Love It.   I Love It.   What Do I do Now ?

IF wading through all of the menus has put the Rhodes in the running as one of your contenders, what do you do now ?

Well, you could just send in a $35 refundable deposit and get a worn copy of our home made video of the old Rhodes Slide Show (126 pictures from owners around the country and over the years) plus find yourself automatically getting on-going postings on the rapidly changing availabilities of recycled Rhodes as well as the occasional super deals on brand new Rhodes.  And also an opportunity to sail the Albemarle or even take a test sail in your own home waters.

Or, you could take a more aggressive purchasing stance and, depending on your "IFs", jump immediately into Plan A or B or C:

Plan A:   What is a Recycled Rhodes ?

The fancy euphemism of "previously owned" has been made even fancier with General Boat’s "Boat Buying of the Third Kind".  You could have bought a used boat with no guarantees.  You could have bought a new boat with a new boat guarantee.  Now you can buy a recycled Rhodes with a brand new boat guarantee.  No lemons; guaranteed.  But neither are guaranteed recycled Rhodes, pristine new Rhodes.  IF you want your boat to look like a spanking new Rhodes, you have to buy a new Rhodes.  The emphasis in "recycled" is to do whatever is necessary to make that boat structurally sound to warrant its new boat guarantee.  Cosmetics are secondary.  However, recycled boats can be updated with new boat features, with one caveat:  economically it makes better sense to limit total upgrading and go new IF you really need all the latest features.

Who Should Go Recycled

IF, you are dreaming of getting larger and larger boats, until you own one big enough to take that dream cruise around the world or, IF at the other end of the rainbow, you are still trying to decide if sailing is really going to be your placebo, then buying a recycled Rhodes makes the best of your dollars and sense.

Or, IF sailing is just one of your leisure activities and you do not want to dedicate all of your discretionary dollars towards boating, and you are not paranoid about the tolls of time and sun, look into the wide range of Rhodes you can get at recycled prices.

OK.  But how do you buy a one-of-a-kind boat, unseen - comfortably ?

The Recycled Rhodes VIDEO SURVEYS

Buying from the boat’s original manufacturer is a good start because you are going to get a brand new boat guarantee with that experienced sailboat.  Sending a $100 refundable deposit for a Video Survey of the particular boat you want us to put on hold while you take this choice under advisement, is a good next step.

Your $100 is returned if you do not buy this boat.  Your $100 is returned if you do buy this boat.  Can’t lose.  Alternate game plans:  Visit the always open plant or, send a $1,000 refundable deposit and we bring the boat to you.  Same win-win refundable deposit terms.

Plan B:    The New Boat/Buy Now/Sail Later/Quicker Delivery Plan

IF 22 is as large as you know you really are going and, IF you have the money or financing and IF you are familiar with the Rhodes via friends or are willing to trust our good judgment, go ahead and reward yourself by ordering a brand new Rhodes during one of the seasonal discount sales.  You can order your boat built to your colors and specifications at the times of the year when you can get the best pricing rather than waiting until you go for your sail and then first placing your order.  You can order early without leaving your comfort zone because this is another Rhodes no-risk deal.  When your boat is delivered and rigged and sailed, IF you can sit there with the tiller in your hand and say to that boat, "I don’t love you.", we return all the deposit money and take your boat away from you.

Plan C:    The Lesser Loaner Boat Program

IF this is not to be your year for a new or a recycled Rhodes, don’t go away.

You can still be sailing something while you are preparing for the move up to a full sized Rhodes 22.  Rhodes’ buyers sometimes insist we take their current boat in trade and make us offers we can’t refuse.  You can sail one of these stand-ins for a season or two and then get the entire low cost returned to you when you are ready to go for your New R-22.  So you have sailed your loaner boat "free" in the interim.

What a deal.

So start your sailing adventures this very day, with the $35, $100 or $1,000 no-risk entry and the A B C Plan of your choosing.  And thanks from all the crew at rhodes22.com
